Make an Impact During Malnutrition Awareness Week 2024
September 16–20, 2024

Malnutrition Awareness WeekTM is ASPEN’s annual campaign to educate healthcare professionals and consumers on the detection, intervention, and treatment of malnutrition. Here are some ways you can join in and make an impact in your community.

  • ASK your organization to become an MAW ambassador. Take the lead in educating your colleagues, patients, and community on the dangers of malnutrition using ASPEN’s promotional and educational resources. Email [email protected] to learn more.
  • EDUCATE your governor on the important issue of malnutrition. Submit a request for a proclamation declaring September 16–20, 2024, as Malnutrition Awareness Week. Here are links to governors' websites and prepared messages for the request.
  • WRITE and submit an op-ed to your local newspaper. Educate readers on malnutrition or the importance of optimal nutrition. Here are tips for reaching out to local media.
  • PARTICIPATE in MAW webinars. They’re free to ASPEN members and MAW ambassadors, and many offer CE credits! Learn more about the webinars
  • SUPPORT ASPEN’s advocacy efforts. Ask legislators to support nutrition-related bills. Go to ASPEN’s Take Action page to send a prepared but customizable email to your legislator now. It takes only a few minutes.
