Cutting-edge original research that features the latest science that will have an immediate impact upon researchers and practitioners. Case-studies, vignettes, retrospective studies, etc. should be submitted during the regular abstract submission period and not part of the late-breaking abstract submission process.
Unpublished basic or clinical research and data, practice abstracts, retrospective studies, vignettes, or case studies.
Abstracts previously presented at another conference or previously published in a peer-reviewed journal no more than six months prior to the CNW abstract submission deadline of September 7.
Original investigative abstracts will be reviewed for oral or poster presentations and may be eligible for Original Abstract Research Awards. All accepted abstracts are published in the Journal of Parenteral and Enteral Nutrition (JPEN)
in print for awarded abstracts, and online for all.

Abstract of Distinction: Honors first authors of top-scoring abstracts. (Original and late-breaking abstracts are eligible)
Best of CNW Abstracts: Awarded to the top-scoring abstracts in each of the primary categories presented at CNW. (Original, encore and late-breaking abstracts are eligible)

International Abstract Research Awards: Honor international investigators who have submitted top-scoring abstracts. (Original or late-breaking abstracts submitted by investigators residing outside the US are eligible)
Research Workshop Travel Awards: Honors early-career investigators who have submitted top-scoring abstracts that align with the 2017 Research Workshop, "Gastric Bypass: Rose of the Gut."(Original abstracts submitted by early career investigators are eligible)
