GOAL
To improve HCP understanding of appropriate and efficacious use of parenteral nutrition among acute and critically ill adults.
LEARNING OBJECTIVES
- Review the goals of individualized nutrition support, including timing and dose of nutrition, and use of indirect calorimetry when guiding nutrition care for acute and critically ill adults.
- Recognize the importance of appropriate protein dosing to improve outcomes among acute and critically ill adults receiving nutrition support.
- Discuss the results of recent clinical trials aimed at optimizing nutrition delivery among acute and critically ill adults, focusing on the provision of parenteral nutrition support.
