President's Address: The 2020 Overture: A New Tune For the Future

Join ASPEN’s 44th president, Lingtak-Neander Chan, PharmD, BCNSP, FCCP, FACN as he kicks off the ASPEN 2020 Nutrition Science & Practice Conference. Dr. Chan is a Professor of Pharmacy in the School of Pharmacy, and an Interdisciplinary Faculty of the Graduate Program in Nutritional Sciences at the University of Washington, Seattle. He was formerly a faculty member of the College of Pharmacy and College of Medicine at the University of Illinois at Chicago. He is a board-certified nutrition support pharmacist, an elected fellow of the American College of Nutrition and an elected fellow of the American College of Clinical Pharmacy. His primary research focus is on the absorption kinetics of micronutrients and drugs after bariatric surgery and other GI tract repairs. Other key areas of interest include micronutrient deficiencies, intestinal failure, and critical care nutrition. 

Dr. Chan will appeal to our musical appreciation as he presents ideas and approaches, both from the humanistic and scientific perspectives, to bring the field of nutrition to the future to meet the needs of our patients and generate higher level science with meaningful impact.
