Dear
Home and Alternate Site Care Section Members,
Welcome
to the Home and Alternate Site Care Section’s webpage! The purpose of the Home
and Alternate Site Care Section is to provide a structure for communication
among all ASPEN members who have shared interest in nutrition support in the
home (traditional home, group home, intermediate care facility, or assisted
living facility) and alternate site care facilities (skilled nursing
facilities, long-term acute care hospitals, or rehabilitation hospitals); to
act as a resource to other health care professionals to provide optimal
nutrition support for patients in non-hospital settings; to form a
collaboration of alternate site care practitioners in the design and
implementation of basic and clinical research studies; and to participate with
ASPEN’s public policy task force to respond to legislation and regulatory
documents addressing alternate site care issues.
We
are encouraging our Section members to become more involved in several
difficult ways including: volunteering to serve on our Section subcommittee,
providing feedback and suggestions to improve our Section’s efforts, and
becoming active on Member Connect. We would like to see our online Member
Connect be a forum for discussion between members and a networking tool
among home and alternate site care providers.
We
have an exciting year ahead and we look forward to serving Section member
interests through the efforts of our volunteer members. If you have any
questions or want to get involved, please contact us!
