Clinicians everywhere struggle with caring for the diverse array of patients with gastrointestinal (GI) disorders. Alterations in GI function and physiology, either because of surgery or an underlying disease state, can result in a serious decline in one's nutrition status and quality of life. Understanding GI disorders and the tools available for their diagnosis and treatment allows the clinician to design an appropriate nutrition regimen and provide the best care to patients. This 2024-2025 lecture series will include presentations of common and very complex GI topics by clinicians who have worked at the bedside with these patients, and hence developed expertise and skills that are not always in the textbook.
Each session will be moderated by the course director and GI nutrition support expert, Carol Rees Parrish, MS, RDN.

- Registration includes access to recordings of all sessions for one year. Recordings will be accessible in the ASPEN eLearning Center.
- Please note: Recordings will be provided assuming ASPEN receives permission from the speakers. If a speaker does not grant ASPEN permission to post the recording of their presentation, then the recording of that presentation will not be accessible after the end of the webinar.

Cancellation/Refund Policy
All cancellation requests must be sent to the ASPEN national office by email or fax (301-587-2365) on or before November 5, 2024. Telephone cancellations will not be accepted. Refunds will be issued less a $25 administrative fee. No refunds or credits will be issued for cancellations received via email or fax after November 5, 2024. Substitutions will be accepted until the day before the start of the program (November 11, 2024).

Accreditation Information
Target Audience: This course is targeted to individuals in GI Fellowship Programs and all clinicians of various disciplines who provide care for patients with gastrointestinal diseases and conditions. The goal of this course is to allow the clinician to develop a greater understanding of how and when to use nutrition support in patients with GI diseases, as well as the nutrition intervention required for specific GI diseases. An additional goal is to educate gastroenterology trainees about the support available by nutritionists both in and outside their respective institutions. This course and all of its parts is designed at the intermediate learning level.
Successful Completion: ASPEN provides continuing education credit to physicians, nurses, pharmacists and dietitians who attend in full each session available for credit, and complete the program evaluation via the ASPEN eLearning Center. Pharmacists and physicians, please note that ASPEN will upload earned CE credit into the appropriate system within the required timeframe. Any credit not claimed by the deadline will not be entered. Please provide your correct information when completing your evaluation and claiming your CE credit. ASPEN submits only the information that is entered by the pharmacist or physician when credit is claimed and is not responsible for following up to obtain any corrected information to ensure an error-free submission.
