The ASPEN PN Safety Committee has developed a new video series highlighting best practices for dosing, preparing and administering intravenous lipid emulsions (ILE). Designed for clinicians who provide nutrition support, the series addresses a knowledge gap between best practice recommendations and current practices in parenteral nutrition (PN).1

The ILE series was developed for the busy clinician. They’re broken down into four, 15-minute videos that can be viewed anywhere, anytime. The educational videos do not provide continuing education hours.

Part 1: Overview by Michael L. Christensen, PharmD, BCNSP, FPPAG

Part 2: ILE Infusion Practices by Phil Ayers, PharmD, BCNSP, FASHP

Part 3: Use of Filters by Beverly Holcombe, PharmD, BCNSP, FASHP, FASPEN

Part 4: Repackaging ILE by Kathleen M. Gura, PharmD, BCNSP, FASHP, FPPAG, FASPEN

This program was supported by an educational grant from Fresenius Kabi.

1The gap was discovered in an ASPEN ILE survey and published last year in the Journal of Parenteral and Enteral Nutrition.
