Recognizing excellence in interdisciplinary clinical nutrition practice
September 5, 2012, Silver Spring, MD –The American Society for Parenteral and Enteral Nutrition (A.S.P.E.N.)—an organization dedicated to improving patient care by advancing the science and practice of clinical nutrition and metabolism—is excited to announce its newest award category: Clinical Nutrition Team of Distinction.
This award is designed to identify and elevate the stature of interdisciplinary nutrition care within institutions and agencies and within communities. A.S.P.E.N.'s newest award is aimed at recognizing those who are working to provide exceptional care to their patients every day.
Clinical nutrition teams, as defined for this award, consist of an identified interdisciplinary group of practitioners with a member from each of four disciplines: dietetics, medicine, nursing and pharmacy.

This award joins a full line-up of prestigious clinical nutrition and metabolism awards including: the Harry Vars Research Award, the Stanley J. Dudrick Research Scholar Award; the Barney Sellers Public Policy Award; Lyn Howard Consumer Advocacy Award; A.S.P.E.N. Fellows; and several other distinguished nutrition support awards.
Clinical Nutrition teams will apply using an electronic application process with a deadline of October 15th. In November, the Clinical Practice Committee will review the applications and select award recipients. There will not be a limit to the number of award recipients. Inaugural awards to be given at CNW13, Februrary 9-12, Phoenix, AZ.
