Thank you for helping make MAW 2019 our most successful campaign yet. Watch this space for MAW 2020!
Malnutrition Awareness Week is an annual, multi-organizational campaign created by ASPEN to:
- Educate healthcare professionals in identifying and treating for malnutrition earlier
- Educate consumers/patients about discussing their nutrition status with healthcare professionals
- Increase awareness of nutrition’s role on patient recovery
This year, ASPEN is partnering with the Canadian Nutrition Society (CNS) and British Association for Parenteral and Enteral Nutrition (BAPEN) to expand our global reach.
About ASPEN's Malnutrition Awareness Week
Malnutrition Awareness Week is now part of the National Health Observances Calendar, and ASPEN and this award-winning program have been presented with Certificates of Special Recognition from U.S. Sen. Benjamin Cardin of Maryland in 2014 and 2018.
ASPEN started Malnutrition Awareness Week in 2012. In 2015, ASPEN expanded the reach of the program through the use of organizational ambassadors. Ambassadors help promote Malnutrition Awareness Week and in return get complimentary access to the educational webinars and resources.
Today, Malnutrition Awareness Week is supported by 72 organizations and reaches over 1 million healthcare professionals, patients, and caregivers across the globe.
Malnutrition Awareness WeekTM is a mark of the American Society for Parenteral and Enteral Nutrition (ASPEN).
