Parenteral nutrition (PN) is a complex, high-alert medication. Appropriate provision of protein, carbohydrate, and lipid is vital to ensure adequate nutrition delivery. Macronutrient needs can vary based on disease states, medical interventions and complications. Assessing the needs of patients and providing adequate macronutrients are key steps leading to positive outcomes. This webinar will review methods to manage macronutrients in adult PN patients with various disorders and clinical scenarios.

  2. Describe appropriate provision of carbohydrates and lipids and their relation to parenteral nutrition.
