Tufts University offers a two-to-three year NIH-funded postdoctoral fellowship program in Human Nutrition and Metabolism. This program is designed to provide medical, dental, veterinary or other graduate level health professionals, as well as selected Ph.D.s, with postdoctoral training in nutritional science. Approximately twenty percent of the trainee's experience is devoted to nutrition-related clinical activities; the remainder is spent pursuing a research program. Research opportunities range widely from evidence-based medicine to basic molecular mechanisms. Fellows also have the option of obtaining a Ph.D. from the School of Nutrition or a M.A. in Clinical Research at Tufts University during the course of their training, the tuition for which are paid entirely by the program. The express purpose of this program is to produce the outstanding clinical nutrition scientists of tomorrow.
