Dr. Liu provides advanced consultative, educational, and treatment services for individuals with uncomplicated to the most complex endocrine and metabolic disorders, with a specific interest in diabetes and obesity. Other areas of expertise include: thyroid disorders, adrenal gland disorders, disorders of the bone and calcium metabolism, disorders of cholesterol/lipid metabolism, hirsutism, hypogonadism, pituitary gland disorders, and polycystic ovarian syndrome.

Dr. Liu graduated first in her class from Beijing University in Beijing China, and earned her Master of Science degree in Physiology and Biology at University of Cincinnati in Cincinnati, Ohio. She completed her internship and residency at Boston University Medical Center in Boston, Massachusetts. She also completed her Endocrinology and Nutrition Fellowship at Boston Medical Center. Dr. Liu received her Board Certifications in Internal Medicine in 2004, in Endocrinology, Diabetes and Metabolism in 2006, and in Physician Nutrition Specialist in 2006. Dr. Liu has written several publications and abstracts, which have been presented at the ADA, AACE, as well as the ACP-ASIM National Meetings. She was awarded the Boston Medical Center Resident CREST Scholarship from NIH for clinical research training, and has conducted research on molecular genetics of Faciogenital Dysplasia at the University of Michigan at Ann Arbor, as well as molecular biological and biochemical research on Sudden Infant Death Syndrome at the University of Cincinnati.
