Dr. Kirby finished college and medical school at George Washington University in Washington, D.C. before moving to Chicago. There, he completed his internal medicine training and a fellowship in Gastroenterology and Nutrition at Northwestern University. He later accepted a position at the Medical College of Virginia in Richmond, VA where he was a professor of medicine, psychiatry, biochemistry and molecular physics and also Chief of the Section of Nutrition and Wellness and Director of the Nutrition Support Team. Dr. Kirby is presently the Director for the Center of Human Nutrition at the Cleveland Clinic in Cleveland, OH.
